About the Show

The Legacy of Charity’s Children was named the Winner of the prestigious 2023 Roadmap Writers Podcast Competition for Best Narrative Audio and the Best Nonfiction Podcast Winner at the 2024 Miami WebFest. This compelling short story podcast series, also an Official Selection of the esteemed 2023 Urban Mediamakers Film Festival, delves into the extraordinary life of Charity Davis Ceasar Broady, an early Ohio settler, and vividly traces the intricate journey of her descendants.

Each episode of the series skillfully weaves family archives, oral traditions, and historical records. Executive Producer Patricia Smith Griffin, a direct descendant of Mrs. Broady, writes and narrates these engaging stories, breathing life into the remarkable chronicles of this resilient lineage.
